What is SOC 2 Type 2?

Established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the SOC 2 examination is designed for organizations of any size, regardless of industry and scope, to ensure the personal assets of their potential and existing customers are protected. SOC 2 reports are globally recognized and affirm that a company’s software, infrastructure, data, policies, people, procedures and operations have been formally reviewed.

SOC 2 Type 2 is more comprehensive than Type 1, and covers the finer details of established security controls and procedures. This ensures that companies rigorously apply and adhere to these standards without exceptions.

DroneDeploy has a proud history of adhering to industry best practices regarding cybersecurity.

In February 2019, DroneDeploy achieved ISO 27001 certification, an internationally accepted security standard demonstrating compliance with security and privacy best practices. In July 2019, DroneDeploy achieved SOC 2 Type 1 certification, followed by our first SOC 2 Type 2 certification in 2020.
