DroneDeploy Fair Usage

At DroneDeploy, we strive to provide an equitable and reliable service to all our users. To ensure fair usage across our platform and maintain optimal performance for everyone, we have implemented the following fair usage policy (Policy).  

This Policy is intended to clarify and help our customers to comply with our fair usage policy contained in our Master Services Agreement, as amended from time to time (MSA).  This Policy and our customers’ use of the DroneDeploy service is subject to our MSA or any similar contract between DroneDeploy and you governing your use of our service. 

1. Account Tier Limitations:

‍Each account tier comes with a limitation on cloud data processing. These limitations are set based on typical usage patterns observed across our diverse customer base. All pilot user licenses are designed for up to 2 different drones per month.

2. Adjustments of Limits:

‍We reserve the right to adjust these usage limits and calculations as deemed necessary. This enables us to adapt to evolving demands and ensure a fair distribution of resources among our users.

3. Usage Measurement:

‍Usage limits are measured in Gigapixels (GPx) of imagery uploaded. This measurement is calculated based on the resolution and quantity of images uploaded. The formula for Image Gigapixels is: [Image resolution in MP / 1000] . Factors such as mapping frequency, map size, and drone camera resolution directly influence the total GPx processed.  

Standard image sizes for some of the most popular drone models used by our customers, including the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 3 Enterprise, and explained below.  These metrics are true only as of the date set out above.

Usage limits apply at the account level, and an atypically large number of users associated with Project or Enterprise level subscriptions may result in the imposition of the limitations described in this Policy.

4. Notification of Overuse:

‍
In the event of overuse, we will notify the account owner. This communication serves to initiate discussions on adjusting the contract to accommodate the increased usage.  

5. Blocking of Product Use:

While rare, in cases of significant overuse where it significantly impacts the performance of our platform or disrupts service for other users, we reserve the right to temporarily restrict or block the use of the product. This action is taken to maintain the integrity and stability of our services for all users.

6. Changes to this Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time, and the latest version will be posted on DroneDeploy’s website at https://www.dronedeploy.com/legal/fair-usage.
